Transformative Practices for the Eco-Social Crisis

Metabody_Toulouse is not just another residency.
It is a deep human encounter — blending art, research, and activism to imagine poetic, political, and practical alternatives in the face of today’s eco-social crisis.

Sessions combine:

  • Choreographic and sensori-motor practices (with and without digital media)

  • Outdoor and site-specific improvisations

  • Immersive digital environments

  • Collective vegan living & cooking

  • Research & project development space

Led by:

  • Jaym/Jaime del Val* (Spain) — artist-philosopher-activist, pioneer of Metahumanism, creator of the Metabody Toolkit

  • Jean-Marc Matos (France) — choreographer, co-director of K. Danse

Dates & Venues

  • Session 1 — 29 Sept – 3 Oct, Studio La Vannerie (Toulouse)

  • Session 2 — 3 – 7 Nov, Studio La Vannerie (Toulouse)

  • Session 3 — 8 – 12 Dec, La Gare aux Artistes (Toulouse)

    Special guests in Session 3: Konic Th (Barcelona) & Baal (Mallorca), as part of the Jornada 3 of the euro regional Cos(AdaEina2) project

Theme 2025: Transformative Practices for the Eco-Social Crisis
Exploring how the moving body, radical critique, visionary creativity, and survival knowledge can converge to foster systemic change — beyond anthropocentrism, towards livable futures.

Practical Info:

  • Fee: €70/week — free for participants coming from outside Toulouse

  • Travel, accommodation, and food at your expense (shared vegan cooking possible)

  • Accessibility: not yet fully wheelchair-adapted; movement practices can be adapted for very limited mobility

  • Languages: FR, EN, ES (+ IT/DE on request)

Target Audience:
Artists, researchers, activists, social practitioners — anyone interested in the moving body, eco-social justice, and embodied experimentation.
